The Parks Bonifay Documentary is Finished August 13th, 2009
It’s finally here. Over 27 years of record setting achievements and five years in the making, the documentary of the one and only Parks Bonifay is complete! Parks’ entire life is offered up in in-depth clarity. An athlete not only raised to excel at a sport, but born into it. Parks has been wowing spectators since before he could walk, and it has been nearly 13 years since he took the wakeboarding world by storm. No athlete has had as much influence on the sport, industry and future riders as Parks. To put it simply, Parks is wakeboarding. Did Parks grow up with wakeboarding or did wakeboarding grow up with Parks? As Tony Smith likes to say, “It’s Parks’ world, the rest of us are just living in it.” Now with the completion of the Parks Bonifay documentary, that world is here for the rest of us to see and experience. Be sure to join us at the premiere of this once in a generation film.

MACKENZIE HANGS OUT WITH ALANA BLANCHARD August 12th, 2009

The “Hang Out with Alana” Contest winner 11-year-old Mackenzie Bill from Long Beach, California couldn’t wait to meet Spy’s Ms. Alana Blanchard.
Mackenzie met Alana at the Hurley US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach at Transworld Surf’s “Cote’s Cube.” She was the final special guest of Cote’s session. Patrick Ivison, advocate from the Life Rolls on Foundation, surfer Andrew Doheny and others guests made appearances on the show as well.
We asked Mackenzie right before Alana arrived (coming from Trestles) how she felt—
“I am really excited. I didn’t think I would win. I was really surprised. I never win anything!” said Mackenzie.
“I first saw Alana on TV and loved how she surfed. She’s really good. I’m starting surf camp next week and I want to be as good as her. I want to achieve goals just like hers.”
After being interviewed on Cote’s Cube, Alana took Mackenzie and her younger sister Macy, 9, to have frozen yogurt on the main Huntington Beach strip. Mackenize and Macy were all smiles with their hang out session with their idol, Alana. They chatted about being girls, excited for surf camp and just happy to be at the beach.
Macy was also grinning ear to ear to have met Alana and will be joining her big sister Mackenzie at surf camp the following week.
Stay tuned for the video to follow…
Congrats to the three runner-ups who will receive a free pair of Spy sunnies!
