Spy Domination at the 2010 Burton US Open of Snowboarding

LOUIE GRABS 2ND AND IPOD TAKES 3RD

Once again our guys came out firing in the sunny halfpipe of the 2010 Burton US Open. After both Louie and Iouri took home medals from European X Games just a couple days before, they arrived at Stratton, Vermont ready to continue their domination this season. They have both be on almost every podium through the 2010 season.

This time it was Louie who took second and Iouri took third. Louie dropped in with a huge frontside double cork 1080, then right into the cab double cork 1080, frontside double 900, backside 900 and into a frontside 1260. Louie has been mastering that run all year, but recently added that frontside double 900. As for Iouri, he came blasting into the pipe with a huge cab double cork 1080, into a front side corked 540, then dropping the hammer with his double Mctwist 1260 right into a frontside 1080.

We here at Spy are proud of you boys, it has been an amazing contest season for both of you. Thank you for the continuing support of the brand!

We're just back from The first European X Games...with two medals.

First european X games held in europe have been an incredible show for all the crowd arrived from all around the globe.

All the eyes were focused on the Superpipe contest were all the best pipe slayers were ready to challenge their skills.

Our anti-hero I-Pod took the gold in the biggest pipe that European parks have ever seen landing a double Mctwist 12 with a 98.00 final score.

Louie brought home a bronze medal with an oustanding run featuring 3 double corks.

SPY'S Mike Losness Releases New Part on Innersection.tv

SPY Optic athlete and San Clemente’s free surfing fiend Mike Losness sees Taylor Steel’s newest movie project Innersection.tv as an opportunity to unleash some new footage, promote his sponsors and solidify his reputation amongst the surfing world.
Wasting no time, Mike’s freshly filmed part will be up for voting during the first cycle of Innersection, beginning Monday, March 8th. With only 2 months to film and edit his part, Mike delivered the goods regardless of pressure. Labeling his section “Insurfnia,” Mike brings light to a disease many surfers may find themselves labeled with. Straight from the surfer’s mouth, Mike gives his opinion on Innersection. “It’s going to be one of the biggest websites in surfing. As soon as the first cycle is up on March 8th, who knows? There may be 500 surfers who have uploaded videos, and tons and tons of people are going to watch them. I think it’s a great place to show my surfing talent to the masses."

JF HOULE NABS TOP PODIUM AT EUROPEAN FREESKI OPEN

Gusty winds and heavy storms hightailed their way through the European Freeski Open forcing organizers to cancel its March 5th main freeski event in Laax, Switzerland. Alternatively organizers in the later afternoon unleashed the Stair Rail Battle down in the valley at the rockresort. Despite the last minute change up and harsh elements JF Houle crushed the comp yet again with a nose butter 450 on, pretzel 270 out.

JF has been on fire the past few weeks, also taking first in the L.A. Session at Les Arcs and 3rd at the Austrian Open at the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park.

"It’s been a very good trip for me. I can't ask much more then 3 podiums in 3 weeks!" says JF.

SPY TEAM BLOWS UP IN TIGNES FRANCE AT INAUGURAL WINTER X GAMES EUROPE

Hot off the press and ready to take on the heavy comp, the SPY all-star line up will be ready to grab gold at this year’s premier Winter X Games Europe in close to zero temps in Tignes, France March 10-12th.

Recent Vancouver Olympians, crowd pleasing favorite Louie Vito has been crushing the pipe all season while young gun Sarka Pancochova is slaying her practice runs with huge straight airs and smooth style and keep your eyes on Iouri Podladtchikov -- he’s been stomping a double Mctwist 12! For Slopestyle, Frederik Evensen will be pushing the envelope with his undivided attention to perfection of jaw dropping spins with his mellow laid back style.

Back at it, fresh off his Stair Rail Battle win from Switzerland, JF Houle will be throwing down in ski slopestyle all the while technical savvy Canadian Charles Gagnier will be ready to impress.
