NAKETANO im port01 (München) Magazin

OPTION TEAM UPDATE

North Vancouver, BC (October 23rd, 2008) – It’s definitely not an easy task sometimes getting your team to come together, write some news updates and send them in to you by a deadline, fortunately this is not the case for the Option Crew! We are stoked to be working with some of the best riders and up-and-coming riders around the world! Here are some updates from each of them:
Patrick McCarthy

1. What have you been up to these last couple of months?

Well in the last two months I went to Japan and kicked it with Teddy Koo and Family with none other than Frequency/TSJ Editor John Laing. Rolling with the Koo family was an amazing experience and I would like to say thanks very much to everyone that I met over there. We traveled around checked out the city on ‘skateboards’ for 10 days and then went to the beach to check out some surf, sushi and sake. We went straight from Japan to sunny Southern California for Shaun Mckay's star studded wedding event galore. It was an amazing time; nice work! Afterwards, I traveled home and have been attending some local and not so local premieres, as well as traveling a bit, and tinkering around my spot like Bob Villa jacked up on a latte. Along with golfing and fishing with friends, I’ve been going to the Seahawks games even though were not killing it right now. The season is now fully changed up in the Pacific Northwest. Bellingham to be exact, has seen multiple rainy cold days that has rumored to amount to some of that sweet white stuff in the mountains, f#$ck yeah I say!

2. What are your plans for the coming months?

To snowboard as soon possible!! Take care of my business as usual; hang with my family and friends when I can; and, remember my fallen friend Mikey Peterson. I would like to get to the mountains as early as possible and start snowboarding in Washington every day.

1. What have you been up to these last couple of months?

For the last couple of months I’ve been going to school, playing volleyball, and working. As well, I recently picked up Nomis as a sponsor. This week me and a group of friends got together and put together a box session with arena snow. Super fun!

2. What are your plans for the coming months?

In the upcoming months I’ll start riding, enter a few contests around Southern Alberta, and film and shoot photos. Me and a group of local shredders are planning on putting together a short locals video for the season.

1. What have you been up to these last couple of months?

Been re-habing dislocated elbows, and spending time in Salt Lake City. Also, I went down to San Diego for ASR, hanging out with friends, hitting up the new gym in town, making plans for this coming season, and working, working, working.

2. What are your plans for the coming months?
Waiting for the SNOW!!! Getting ready for the season financially and physically; working 7days a week and hitting the gym everyday. I’m also working on starting up a women’s AM movie for this season; dates, contests, destinations TBD

1. What have you been up to these last couple of months?

The past few months I’ve been patiently waiting for snow and have been skateboarding to get in shape for season - it reminds me of how rusty I am, but it's always a blast. I've also been searching for rails and new spots around town. Found one or two for sure! Best of all I've been spending time with my girl Sarah!

2. What are your plans for the coming months?

In the next few months I've got some great times coming, I just hope Mother Nature cooperates with me. Resorts around here are going to be opening up in just a few weeks provided it gets cold enough so my fingers are crossed. I'm looking forward to working with some totally new people shooting some really fresh stuff in the streets. I've got a few new tricks up my sleeve lots to practice & even more fun to have! So stay stoked!

James Costa

1. What have you been up to these last couple of months?

For the last couple of months I've been here in the UK. I used to work in a noodle bar and now I'm working in a Cuban cocktail bar and trying to save enough money for the winter. We have these indoor slopes with fake snow here and I've been riding there once a week; it’s so much fun riding with the crew there. It’s been a great summer and its nice to spend some time with my family and friends.

2. What are your plans for the coming months?

My plans for the next couple of months are to get as much work as
possible and just kill some time till the season starts again. Bring on
the winter!

1. What have you been up to these last couple of months?

For the last couple of months I've been living and working in Vancouver; working a lot, skateboarding a bit, reading a ton, listening to music, and hanging out with my girlfriend. Probably the highlight of my summer, was going home for my sisters wedding, and seeing my new niece; it was wicked to be able to spend two solid with my family!

2. What are your plans for the coming months?

For the coming months, my plans will be to get back to Whistler, and wait for snowboarding to start up. Then its basically working a few evening shifts, and shredding my ass off til' my pants start to sag! I’m all about riding anytime, day or night, trying to find the best thing to ride whenever I can.

1. What have you been up to these last couple of months?

I'm currently running a little gardening business in and around my home village of Clayton, in Yorkshire. Most of the contracts I have are for private customers with very big gardens. Lots of hedge cutting, lawn mowing, tree and shrub planting etc. Most evenings are spent skating my local mini ramp.
2. What are your plans for the coming months?
This winter I'm returning to Mayrhofen in Austria, to ride and film with the Whitespace crew. This season we'll be making our forth film and it'll be released as a cover-mount for Document Magazine in the UK. I'll also be shooting with a couple of magazine photographers and I've got an interview feature out in Whitelines Magazine this month and I also have one lined up with Document Magazine for the new year.

1. What have you been up to these last couple of months?

I had been living up in Northern Maine all summer guiding whitewater on the Kennebec and Dead rivers, after my summer adventures I moved back to Utah. Since then I've just been hanging out in SLC skating, hiking, and fly fishing. I've also been working on getting stuff together for the two videos I am in that came out this fall: "This is Me" by Flat Foot Films and "Breathe It In" by Lifestyle Projection Movements. The past few weeks I have been shredding some in Big Cottonwood Canyon. We got close to a foot and it's been a lot of fun hitting some rails and what not.

2. What are your plans for the coming months?

Shred season is almost underway so I plan on snowboarding a lot in the upcoming months. Flying to Vancouver early November for some Option stuff and then 2 weeks later flying back to Maine to ride at my home mountain Sunday River. I’ll be riding in Utah a bunch after that and then back in Maine/New Hampshire for a few weeks at the end of December/ early January.
Looking forward to doing a lot of snowboarding and filming the next
few months while taking classes at Westminster.

1. What have you been up to these last couple of months?

The past few months my life has basically been dedicated to doing school work and trying to get into shape. As summer ended, I’ve started back up at my local High School, taking every hard course possible, with homework every night! As well as homework every night, I have been going to the gym 4 days a week, which always has taken up alot of my time. When I’m not busy with homework and going to the gym, I have been hanging out with friends as much as I can before I move up to Whistler for the season!
2. What are your plans for the coming months?
In a few weeks I’m going on a cruise in the Caribbean! It goes to a bunch of places, including Jamaica and I’m so excited!!! When I get back from that, I get to FINALLY move up to Whistler and go snowboarding!!!

DANNY LARSEN in Sports Illustrated.......

DANNY LARSEN CATCHES UP WITH THE MEDIA
Danny Larsen, Spy's Norwegian dark star snowboard destroyer, has been busy visiting with media from filming to photo shoots…recently graced the pages of China's Sports Illustrated Magazine. The article showcased athletes from around the globe from professional basketball and football athletes along with snowboard, skateboard and other 'non-mainstream' sports. Larsen, who is renowned for rolling with the punches, had this to say, "Yeah....That was truly a fun photo shoot. ‘Don't smell with teeth, make angry like blood ghost' were my instructions...I think smell with teeth just means smile, at least I hope so. I don't believe I have smelly teeth."In his off time, not wearing makeup, he’s been seen in standout parts in the last three Pirate Films productions. You can also check out his snowboard prowess in the October issues of Monster Backside and Fri Flyt magazines. And if you really want to get to know Danny a little better, be sure to check out Method TV. http://stream.method.tv/

Danny currently proudly represents K2, Whiteout, 32, Etnies, Spy Optic, and Session Boardshop.
