SPY bei der GUMBALL RALLY

SPY TAKES A RIDE ON THE TENTH ANNUAL GUMBALL RALLY!
Spy Optic is a sponsor of the 2008 Gumball 3000 Rally which kicked off last week in San Francisco, California and has traveled in the last few short days to Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas. Currently the drivers are racing across North Korea and China, and will cross the finish line in Beijing Saturday in the midst of Olympic madness. The Gumball 3000 is an annual 3000 mile (5000 km) international rally which takes place on public roads and which travels around the world. Spy provided the rally participants with choice performance eyewear at registration in San Francisco. Drivers chose their favorites from the not-yet-released styles and colors of the 2009 Spy Optic Spring line.

Celebrity rally drivers included David Hasselhoff, Tyson Beckford, Pete Wentz, Bam Margera and Bucky Lasek. Spy’s own Todd Richards drove his own everyday Audi wagon kitted out with the Gumball graphics. The celebrity car of this year’s Gumball 3000 was none other than the 1982 Firebird Trans Am known by millions as “Kitt”.
There were multiple checkpoint stops in between the major stops, including Buttonwillow racetrack north of Los Angeles, a car show at the Hilton Waterfront in Huntington Beach, and a tour of HRE Wheels in Vista. At Buttonwillow, the super cars showed spectators what they were designed to do, putting on an impressive display of horsepower.
